It allows to vary, at leisure, the speed of motors, fans and vacuum cleaners so as to obtain the best benefits.

A fan that turns too fast creates a very painful frontal air movement, as to excessive rotating speed of a vacuum cleaner or electric motor, can create undesirable noise especially when a strong suction is absolutely superfluous. The module can also be used when it is desirable to keep the vacuum cleaner in continuous operation, thus the suction capacity can be considerably reduced, with the advantage of less noise and lower consumption. The device is directly powered by 230 AC mains and the maximum load must not exceed 1000 Watts. The mounting may be enclosed in a plastic housing preferably to avoid short circuits.
When the components have been mounted and soldered to the printed circuit board (without using solder paste), the device is ready for use.
The load (motor, fan, vacuum cleaner, etc.) is connected to points M taking care not to exceed 1000 Watts. The points indicated by ~ ~ are connected to the mains voltage in 230 Volts,
The potentiometer P1 is used to adjust the speed; Completely turned counterclockwise the fan or vacuum cleaner is stopped, but the maximum speed is achieved by turning it fully clockwise. In the intermediate position, an intermediate speed is obtained.
The arrangement formed by R1 and C1 serves to protect the Triac T1 from overvoltages due to the inductive load.
Remember that with the potentiometer turned all the way counterclockwise, even if the fan or the vacuum cleaner is stopped, there is still a certain consumption; A switch which disconnects the load is therefore necessary.
